Mitch and I went to the Garment district last weekend and got the best stuff!
A vintage dress from the late 80s early 90s. The bottom part is completely see through so I got black skintight long shorts to wear underneath. Love it.
A skirt from the 50s. I love it so much and it has such a great texture to it.
Dress from the 70s which I had to get because it is just soo 70s. Also super comfy, I just have to find a way to make it shorter and have an adjustable length.
I know that I'll be going to the Renaissance fair at least twice this year, so I had to get this dress. Super awesome.
This amazing skirt with a bulldog on it was in the costume section. Crazies! I'm going to wear it everyday as soon as it actually fits my waist.
Its a belt! With pockets! Need I say more?
I love everything I got. Definitely a successful shopping trip. Plus Mitch got a whole suit for only $35!

Thrifting Yay!
I went to visit my grandparents the other day and they weren't home :-(. So while I waited I went to the thrift store around the corner and got amazing stuff!
First this dress which I got because it has a ridiculous amount of beading. Plus it fit perfectly. I have no idea when or where I'll wear it but believe me I'll find a place. So much fun and only $8.
Second, my new bag. I had been looking for one for spring and this one is perfect because it can fit multiple books all at once! And it has a special compartment for make-up.
Third is the singing duck with a hat, Daisy, with whom I had a rocky relationship to start. This is him refusing my kiss.
Now, this is me angry.
And finally we made up.
Here's dasiy with Rufus, the one eared dog I got at the Christmas Tree Shop for $2. I don't know what my problem is, but I can't help myself from buying what seems like unwanted cheap figurines. This thrift store in particular is not a good place for that. Still I loooove my thrift store finds.

My Poofy Blue Skirt
So I had made an extremely poofy blue skirt for the tacky prom with the intention to take out the filling once it was over so I could actually wear it. But of course later that week I had a party go to and had to wear just ONE more time. And what happened? I got an actual compliment on it! So now it is staying exactly like it is. I love it so much that I forced my fiance to film a video of me dancing around in it!
I also took several pictures, and since I can't post the silly ones on etsy I'm posting them all here!
I wish I could wear it all the time!

Thrifting! and Shoes!
I took my first thrifting adventure last weekend at a thrift store in Waltham and I honestly wished I had discovered this earlier. There were hundreds of shoes and ALL of them were only $4! So much fun just trying on shoes without worrying about the price. Here are the awesome shoes I got there.
These are amazingly comfortable and I've already gotten compliments on them during the many times I've worn them. And for $4!
I have no idea when or with what I'll be able to wear these with but come on, bright red ankle boots. Must have.
The other day I went to the Garment District in Cambridge. Unfortunately I could only stay for an hour because the parking meters are a quarter for 15 minutes! How outrageous is that. I'm planning a trip back where I take the train so I can stay for much longer. I did find the most amazing shoes.
So amazing. I'm planning on just wearing them all the time. Also, much cooler than the Topshop ridiculously priced shoes. Double win!

Chinatown Rocks!
So after being frustrated about paying $20 for one ring at Topshop we decided to walk through Chinatown to get some bitter melon. And found the everything is $1 table. Which had awesome giant rings. Even more awesome than Topshop.
I think this one is my favorite because it's just so ridiculous. Either this one or the big red one. Also, most of them are adjustible which is great since my fingers are extremely narrow.
And I had to get this because I felt that spending an even $5 made more sense. Plus it's ridiculous. I haven't actually found an opportunity to wear it yet but I will.

Top Shop Stinks
Mainly because it is ridiculously overpriced and half of the clothes were described by Mitch as "grandmother clothes". There were a few highlights. I was excited to go shopping there and Mitch agreed to let me dress him ridiculously, yay! Here's the result:
And here's Mitch after I told him to pose:
And yes he is wearing a Mustachio t-shirt and those are Mustachio socks. Of course they only had them for boys, and he thought $30 and $6 respectively were too much. Which of course it is.
I also found this awesome awesome shoes.
Of course they were $55 and on those little plastic hanger things. Seriously, any shoes that come on those hanger things should be no more than $20. So I left without them.
The worst problem with Topshop. It's a few blocks away from ChinaTown which has almost the exact same jewelry and accessories for a tiny fraction of the price.

Tacky Prom
A few weekends ago my fiance's sister invited me to go to Harvard Law school's tacky prom. Neither of us actually go to Harvard Law, but we do have undergraduate IDs and neither of us were going to miss the chance to dress up for a tacky prom! It was amazing! Plus, I made a new skirt especially for the occasion. It was going to be just a plain bubble hem skirt, but when I finished it wasn't puffy enough. So I stuffed it with tulle. The plan was to take the tulle out afterwards and wear it as a normal skirt but I love the puff so much! I have also worn it to a slightly more normal party and got no crazy looks.
Some Pictures!
My outfit. Of course I added a feather boa.
